Is Autumn shrinking? Yes. Is it because of pumpkin creep as the spiced beverages come out earlier and earlier? Also yes. Yesterday, we alerted you to the unveiling of this season’s Starbucks pumpkin-infused lineup.

Is Liz currently drinking a hot Starbucks pumpkin spice latte? You already know that’s a yes. While Liz staunchly defends everything pumpkin always, there’s a method behind the madness. It’s a *massive* business.

On August 30, 2022, when Starbucks brought back its fall menu last year, foot traffic popped 25.7%.

When Dunkin rolled out its fall pumpkin spice menu on August 17, 2022, foot traffic jumped 9.5%.

And here’s the inflation aspect… It’s more expensive than it was when it was initially introduced.  A Pumpkin Spice Latte cost $3.35 in 2005, whereas today you won’t get it for less than $5.75.
