It’s the last back-to-school Monday as students for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools head to the bus stops and car lines and their teachers return to work.
Make plenty of space on the roads and prepare to take extra time as 142,733 students spread out over 176 schools put on their best first-day outfits and head back.
The entire school calendar is 215 days, including school days, teacher’s workdays, annual leave days and holidays.
There must be 185 instructional or student days or 1025 instructional hours, which may start no sooner than the Monday closest to August 26th and end no later than the Friday closest to June 11th.
