Charlotte FC vs New England Revolution 3/19

Look. I love the Panthers as much as anyone, maybe more than most, but perhaps we should all consider trading one “process blue” team for another for now.

Now this isn’t purely sefless as Charlotte FC welcomes a global superstar to our fair city. Lionel Messi is a very big deal. And he plays for Inter Miami. He and his team are here Saturday. But they also play Wednesday. Because I am bad at understanding things.

The game starts at 6pm at Bank of America Stadium on Saturday. You can tailgate with our Sportsradio 92.7 WFNZ buddies beginning at 3pm at the Dog House. Let’s not rule out a Liz sighting.

After another disappointing performance *in* Miami, the Panthers stay winless (sad trombone) but get a break with the bye week.

Staying sportsy, Hornets preseason play rolls on. The Celtics are at Spectrum Center Thursday night.

A couple of concerts: Matty Healy and Liz’s favorite alt-rock band are at Spectrum Center Friday night. The 1975 are on tour and stopping here for the night.

So apparently the Spectrum Center is BUSY because next Monday, that’s where John Mayer will perform an all-acoustic show.

Lastly, the super-popular and highly anticipated Culinary Dropout has opened its doors in South End.

Sitting right next to Sixty Vines in the Vantage Building, the James Beard nominated chef Sam Fox opened another endeavor. He’s also the brains behind Flower Child and North Italia. (Full disclaimer: their parent company is The Cheescake Factory.)
